Cole Haan Mens Penny Loafers Before and After

This pair of Cole Haan Mens Penny Loafers were half-soled and heeled.  You may ask, What's a half-sole?  Well, we replace the sole area just behind the wear-area forward.  If you look closely you can see where it is spliced in.  This particular pair had combination heels (a combination of rubber and leather),  which makes for a fancier look.  I really enjoy working on nice shoes like these.

Western Boot Heels Before and After

This pair of boots had very badly worn heels.  Almost to the point that they were completely worn away.  I had to rebuild the heels bases and then put on the cowboy heels.  He will be a little taller now that the heels and heelbase are back where they should be.

TIP...Bring your shoes and boots in before the wear gets into the heelbase and you will save some money on the repair.

We Can Change Eyelets to Boot Hooks

This customer wanted some eyelets changed to boots hooks to be able to lace them up faster.

Here you see the eyelets we replaced with boot hooks.
We can also change boot hooks to eyelets if you don't like the hooks.  There is also another kind of hook called a stud.  The opening will not get smashed down and pinch the laces.  Those of you who wear this style of boot know what I'm talking about.

How Do You Clean Smelly, Stinky Shoes? We KLENZ Them!

I attended the 107th Shoe Service Institute of America Conference this weekend in St. Petersburg, FL and was introduced to this new Machine called the KLENZ.  It is a multi-purpose sanitizer.  It uses nano-silver technology to sanitize and deodorize pretty much anything that accumulates bacteria.  We will use it primarily for shoes and handbags.

  • Helps prevent athletes foot
  • No Chemicals
  •  It takes only one 8 minute cycle in the KLENZ machine

So bring in your stinky, smelly, shoes and let us sanitize and deororize them, it only takes 8 minutes.

Before and After Elastic Replacement

If your shoe doesn't fit like it used to and they include elastic in the design, take a close look at them and see if the elastic has lost its stretch.  Sometime it might be hanging by a thread.  In the case of the picture above it completely broke.  We can fix that, and your shoes will fit much better, like they used to.

Can You Cut Down or Lower Ladies Heels?

I am often asked "Can you can cut down or lower heels?" The answer is YES!  There is however a limit to how much you can take off.  As you lower the heel the weight of walking is shifted towards the back of the shoe.  You don't want to feel like you are leaning backwards.  Most ladies heels like the one pictured here can be lowered as much as 3/8", sometimes 1/2".  That doesn't sound like much, but it can make a big difference.  So, if you find a pair you really like, but the are to high, consider having them lowered.

National Odd Shoe Exchange

I have a customer with one foot much larger than the other.  So he has to buy two pair of boots to get a pair that fit him.  In this case he had two size 5 Medium left boots that he couldn't use.  The two boots you see in the photo.  I discovered a charity call National Odd Shoe Exchange that accepts donations of new pairs, mismated pairs or singles to distribute to those in need, including soldiers who have lost limbs in the defense of our country.  So I boxed these up and sent them to National Odd Shoe Exchange (N.O.S.E)  If you have any new shoes consider sending them as well.
